CVFC conducted water rescue drill at the reservoir today 3/24/12. Rescue techniques were practiced and mock rescues were performed by several fire fighters. At the conclusion of this drill, the fire fighters are able to function as a member of an ice rescue team. The fire fighters will be able to evaluate the need for ice rescue and perform both shore-based and in -water rescues. More pictures to be posted in the photo gallery....

Known as Black Sunday, 7 yrs ago today, the FDNY lost -3- members at -2- seperate fires. Lieutenant Meyran & Fireman Bellew of L-27 & 4 other members were forced to jump from a 5th floor window on East 178 Street in The Bronx. Meyran & Bellew succumbed from injuries.
